My Sanctuary Front Porch

I've imagined a breezy, cool "front porch" for My Sanctuary.  I think it just might be coming together.

New Skylight/Vent

Well the air conditioner installation was not a success.  Just didn't do the job.  So hubby installed my vent/skylight today.  It should do the job as long as I'm up in the high country.  No desert camping for now.  I love it.  It's so pretty.  Thanks hubby!

Like I Said...

Oh my goodness!

Could it be?

Could it really be?

Oh My Goodness!

Ran to Walmart (I know I hate Walmart) to get some things for the trailer.  Scored on some great sales, by the way. Came home and opened the door to say bye to Sam on his way to All-Stars tournament and what did I find on the front porch?

Party Treats

Yummy!

Tea Party Treats for upcoming campout!

Ohh, I found my Tea Party treat for the upcoming Sister on the Fly Christmas in July trip.

A/C Install

So I had read on the SOTF Facebook page about installing a small A/C unit under the bed.  What a great idea!  I had an extra draw area that wasn't being used. So I cut out the extra footboard to fit the A/C (which was $150.00 at Home Depot).  And, it was done.  I vented it out the external utility doors and I thought I was a genius.  However, it wasn't cooling, in fact, it started heating up . So I checked it out and saw that the air returns were under the bed.  Great, I thought, I can fix that, just pull it out a little until the air return vents are inside.

Well, long story short, doesn't work.  It never cools the room down.  Not sure what the problem is.  The unit blows cold, maybe cuz it's on the floor and heat rises.  Who knows? Back to the drawing board!

Ooo, look what I found!

Gotta have a great cowgirl belt to go with my new party outfit.  Soooo, I found a Kippy buckle set on ebay.  Working on winning the bid now. 4 more hours to go.  How high will I go.....

Great Sister's Story

From Maurrie's Blog:

Lovely Party Dresses

I just won two new party petticoats for my sister trips.  I can't believe I won.  I thought I was outbid.  So much FUN!

Love my new cowgirl boots!

I did it!  I listened to my heart, found the boots that I absolutely love and they are on their way!  It's one of those things, much like my trailer, that I mulled over, and ultimately knew I couldn't live without.  I knew if I didn't get them, I'd regret it.  They speak adventure, beauty, fun and whimsy.  I just had to get 'em.

My New Sisters Digs

Getting ready for the upcoming Christmas in July Sisters on the Fly Campout. Got my ugly Christmas Sweater and just found my Sister's Afternoon Tea Party clothes. Just lovely...can't wait.

Sunflower Camp

Spent a couple of hectic, but fun days with Grammy's Fancy Girls for Sunflower Camp. We roasted marshmallows, and hot dogs, did lots of art projects with Aunt Heidi our resident artist, went swimming, played Go Fish and the girlies did a great job camping all nite in the backyard. Thanks Girlies, for a great time.

More fun at the beach...

Beach House San Diego 2011

We spent a great week in a beach house in Mission Beach. The weather was a bit chilly but a nice break from the 100+ temperatures in AZ. We walked the beaches and boardwalk, road bikes to the beach market, ice cream shop, walked to breakfast at Olive's Cafe, dinner at Luigi's giant pizza shop, rode the Big Dipper roller coaster, got henna tattoos, dug giant sand bunkers, went deep sea fishing and caught a barracuda, saw a Padres game, collected sand dollars and beach glass, kayaked in the La Jolla waves, napped, read, played games, flew kites and loved every minute of our time.

Sunflower Camp with my Fancy Grammy Girls

Tomorrow all the fancy granddaughters will be coming over for a two day Sunflower Camp. We'll be backyard camping, crafting, playing in the sprinklers, making yummy treats and learning to cook in the dutch ovens. All this while papa builds a new chicken coop and fire pit. Gotta find some happy times this week since I'm in a post-beach house vacation slump this week. Lost our sweet, and loyal 9 year old boxer to cancer last week and looking towards the first Father's Day without my dad, Jim McCollum, who passed away last October.

Ever Changing Path

Most of the time, we mortals assume our life is on a predictable and planned path. We want to believe we have control over what our days wil...
